What’s a Fair Price for a Good Computer Charger?

I own an HP Chromebook that uses a USB-C charger, and I'm looking to replace the broken original charger. I've had some issues with other chargers I've tried—both from my school and Amazon—and they just keep breaking after a few months. Given that I've had the Chromebook since 2020 and it's still functioning well, I don't want a new laptop but rather a reliable charger that lasts longer than the ones I've tried. HP and Dell chargers are priced over $50, but I'm wondering if that's reasonable or if I should seek alternatives. What's a good price range for a quality charger that lasts?

I checked my device settings, and my battery health is at 47%. Could this be causing my chargers to fail? Just curious if the battery health plays a role in the charger durability.

For chargers, it's usually true that cheaper ones die faster since they use lower-quality components. If you're in the US, I’d say to be wary of anything priced below $0.40 per watt for a basic USB-C charger. Always check reviews to be sure you’re making a solid choice.

You can definitely find some options on Amazon for under $20, but keep in mind that you often get what you pay for. If you're looking for something reliable, sticking with OEM brands might be worth it in the long run.
