I'm looking for a budget-friendly graphics solution to run background applications like Discord and YouTube on a secondary monitor, without replacing my current CPU or GPU. I have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 and an AMD Ryzen 5 8400F processor. My main monitor is a 31.5 inch 1440p with a higher refresh rate, and I've heard that having different refresh rates and resolutions can lead to performance issues. My secondary monitor is a 24 inch 1080p, and I want to avoid any severe performance drops while using both. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you might just need to plug your secondary monitor into your current GPU. If you connect it that way and manage your settings, it shouldn't lead to any significant performance issues, even with the different resolutions and refresh rates. Just make sure your cables are good and all is set up properly!

But won't that cause issues with frame rates in games? I’ve read it can affect performance.
