What’s a Good GPU Under $500?

I've been using the same GPU for about ten years now, and the price increases lately have me a bit worried. Last time I bought a GPU, it was around $400, and it handled all my games at maximum resolution just fine. Is there a decent option available now for under $500?

If you can stretch your budget to about $550, I’d recommend going for the 5070. Best Buy often has them at MSRP, and you might catch some other retailers offering similar prices. A MicroCenter nearby could be another option. The 5070 is solid for 1440p high settings and easily handles anything at 1080p.

I think I'll go with this option. After all, it's only $50 more, and I prefer Nvidia to AMD. Thanks! <3

You might want to specify what you mean by maximum resolution. As someone mentioned earlier, the 9060XT is a great pick for that price range.

The RX9060XT 16GB is currently the best choice if you're looking for something under $500.

If you're willing to go a bit over, the 5070 at MSRP is excellent. You might also consider the 5060ti 16GB or the 9060XT 16GB, ranked from best to worst performance. Just be aware of stock fluctuations.

For around $430, the 5060 ti 16GB will run many 1080p games at max settings—just keep in mind it won't handle ray tracing. If you're fine with 1440p, a 5070 might be worth the extra cash to ensure better performance. But honestly, true 4K gaming at that budget is a real challenge right now, even high-end cards struggle with it.

I'm fine playing at 1440p, that's what I'm looking for. I think I'll spend a little more to get a 5070. Thanks! <3
