What’s a Good Linux Distro for a Media Server with a GUI?

Hey folks! I've got an old Windows PC that I use as an Emby server and a client for gaming through Steam/Moonlight, connected to my TV. I'm looking to switch it to a Linux distro that can serve as a dedicated media and file server, but I really need it to have a GUI since I still want to use it for TV watching. Anyone out there using a similar setup? What distro would you recommend?

Before recommending a distro, what exactly do you plan to do with your TV PC? I've got a mini-PC connected to my TV for web surfing and streaming. You can keep everything on one device—just make sure to set it up for file sharing on your network with Samba or NFS.

Yeah, I get that you'd prefer to keep it all in one box for now. With the right setup, you can definitely run your media server and stream games on the same machine!

You might want to try Linux Mint with the XFCE desktop. It's user-friendly and has a smooth performance, which is great for a media server setup.
