I'm looking for suggestions on a decent SSD for my laptop since it's currently around 216GB. With prices for SSDs and RAM skyrocketing, I'm hoping to find an upgrade that won't break the bank. Ideally, I'm interested in something for internal installation, if my laptop supports it.

It really depends on what's compatible with your laptop. If you're going for an internal SSD, check if you can actually install one. If your laptop supports it, a 1TB Gen 4 Samsung 990 Pro M.2 SSD is a great option, plus you could grab a 4TB SATA SSD 870 Evo if it has a SATA HDD slot.
I get you on the price front, SSDs can be pricey! Ideally, you want to confirm if an internal SSD upgrade is possible first. If you can, go for something that fits your budget and offers good speed. Hope you find a solid upgrade!
