What’s a reasonable budget for my first gaming PC?

Hey everyone! I just landed my first job and I'm eager to save up for my first gaming PC. I plan to use it mainly for playing games like The Sims (with multiple expansions), Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Minecraft, Roblox, and Stardew Valley. I want it to run smoothly and have enough storage for custom content and Microsoft 365. I'll probably build it with my brother's help. Since I'm in the UK, I'd love to know how much I should aim to save to make this happen!

Since you’re playing less demanding games, consider checking out prebuilt options, which might save you some cash. If you're diligent about searching, you could find something decent for less than £1000.

For the games you mentioned, you could potentially get away with spending between £850 and £1100. Just keep an eye on component prices, especially RAM, because they can fluctuate.

If you're willing to buy new, saving up to at least £700 would be smart. This way, you can grab something prebuilt that’s perfect for gaming and allows for future upgrades as well.

To get a solid modern gaming PC, you should be looking at a budget around £1000 to £1200. That should cover a good setup for your games!

If you're looking to keep expenses down, even a decent used PC for around £500 might do the trick! Just ensure it meets the game specs you need.
