What’s a Safe GPU Hotspot Temperature?

I've noticed that my GPU's core temperature consistently sits around 70-75°C, which I think is fine. However, the hotspot temperature spikes up to 112°C, and it's making me really anxious. Is this level of hotspot temperature dangerous? Can I still game on it, or is it at risk of failing? I already replaced the thermal paste, which helped stabilize the core temperature, but it didn't change the hotspot readings at all. Any advice?

If you're using regular thermal paste, consider upgrading to a high-performance option like PTM7950 phase change pads. They can significantly improve hotspot temperatures. Alternatively, Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet might also be a good solution!

Have you tried adjusting your fan settings? Using something like MSI Afterburner to set a manual fan curve can really help. Your core temperature seems alright, but that hotspot is a bit high; ideally, it should stay below 90°C.

112°C is definitely on the risky side! Have you checked if your GPU fans are working properly? Sometimes dust buildup can prevent them from cooling efficiently, or if you live somewhere really hot, that might be a factor too.
