My laptop has been lagging a lot lately, and aside from the broken fan, which I know is an issue, I can't figure out what else might be causing the performance drop. I used to get a stable 120 fps in CS2, but now it's really slow and stutters quite a bit. If anyone has ideas on what could be affecting my laptop's performance, I would really appreciate your insights!

If your laptop is older, it might just be struggling to keep up with newer games. Have you checked for any background programs that might be hogging resources?
It sounds like overheating could be a big problem since your fan is broken. Without proper cooling, your laptop might throttle performance to prevent damage. You might want to look into replacing the fan soon to avoid more issues!
Yeah, overheating can definitely cause sudden drops in performance. Fixing the fan should help a lot!
Does your laptop have an Nvidia GPU? Sometimes, just updating your graphics drivers can really help improve performance. It's worth checking in your settings to see if you're up to date!

Good point! Sometimes even just some software updates or old apps can slow things down unexpectedly.
