I've been struggling with my laptop screen for a couple of weeks now. Sometimes it randomly goes white with a weird darker area in the middle, and it can take minutes or even hours to fix itself. After it clears up, the corners of the screen remain noticeably brighter until they sort themselves out again. It feels like the problem is getting worse over time. I rely on my laptop for everything—school and hobbies—and I'm worried that if I take it in for repairs, I might have to give up on my hobbies since my backup computer can't support them. I'm autistic, and my computer activities are really important to me. I'm just not sure how long I might be without it!

It sounds like your display might be having issues. Have you tried connecting your laptop to a different monitor or checking the graphics card? If it's a laptop, you won't be able to switch displays like a desktop, but it’s worth looking into if the laptop itself has other problems.
Since it’s a laptop, the problem is likely with the screen itself. If the issue is consistent regardless of any external checks, it’s probably going to need a repair or a replacement display. I totally get how important your hobbies are, though. Maybe reach out to repair shops and ask how long they typically take so you can plan ahead?
That makes sense! I’ll definitely look into how long repairs take before deciding.
Yeah, I should've mentioned it's definitely a laptop! I can't really change monitors.
