What’s the Best Beginner Linux Distro for Programming, Hacking, Gaming, and Everyday Use?

Kubuntu LTS is another great option. It was my choice after using Windows 7, and I’ve had no regrets. It’s stable and pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it!

Linux Mint gets my vote! It’s easy to use and perfect for daily tasks plus you can get your games up and running without too much hassle. If you’re looking for something unique but still easy, Cachyos is an Arch-based distro that’s beginner-friendly too. I started with Cachyos, and it’s been a smooth journey!

I’d suggest checking out Parrot OS if you’re into hacking. It’s really handy for those kinds of tasks, but for everyday usability, Linux Mint is top-notch and very beginner-friendly. Just keep it simple while you’re starting out!

Honestly, you can use any distro for programming. If you're coming from Windows, I’d recommend Linux Mint for its great out-of-the-box experience. It’s super user-friendly and you can easily install Lutris to get games running on it. Once you feel more comfortable with Linux, you might experiment with others like Arch, but Mint is a solid starting point.
