I'm looking for a budget-friendly Nvidia GPU and am open to AMD as well, but if you have recommendations for Nvidia cards that offer great price-to-performance within a budget of $300 to $500, please share! I might consider saving a bit more if it's worth it for future-proofing.

You should clarify whether you’re gaming at 1080p or 1440p. If it's 1080p, the 5060Ti 16GB fits your budget perfectly. If you can stretch a bit, the 5070 12GB is more powerful, despite having less VRAM. Just make sure to also consider waiting for the 5070Ti or super versions for better specs.
If you're looking for future-proofing, aim for any recent Nvidia cards with 16GB VRAM in your price range. That should give you some decent longevity. For AMD, you want to check out the 9000 series with 16GB RAM too.
There's really no such thing as a future-proof GPU on a budget. Get the best you can afford now and expect to upgrade sooner rather than later. The 5060Ti 16GB and 9060XT 16GB are solid options right now. Just remember to use the 5060Ti with a PCIe 5.0 system for optimal performance.
Honestly, budget and Nvidia usually don’t mix well. If you want Nvidia, maybe hold out for the 5070 or better models. They might be more expensive, but worth the wait for better performance.
Also, just because AMD's RX 9070 isn't the latest, it doesn't mean you should overlook the 9060XT or 5060Ti. Both can serve you well in that budget.
Yeah, if you can wait about six months, the super refresh cards might drop. They should offer more VRAM at a higher price point but could be worth it. The RX 9070 (XT) could be an excellent alternative if you’re open to AMD.
