What’s the Best CPU and GPU Combo for Video Editing and Gaming on a Budget?

I'm involved in a lot of video editing using After Effects, but I also want to do some gaming on the side. I usually play at 1440p, but I'm not focused on the latest game releases. I have a budget of around $2,000 to $3,000 for both the CPU and GPU. Any recommendations?

For a good balance between video editing and gaming at your budget, consider the Intel Core 265K or 9950X CPUs. The 265K is surprisingly effective for mixed use, while the 9950X would give you extra performance. Just keep in mind that if you're primarily gaming at 1440p, the x3d chips might not make a huge difference. Also, don't skimp on RAM; After Effects is a RAM hog, so look for sales on memory parts to balance your setup.

I had 32GB in my last build and AE still struggled sometimes. Might be worth looking into optimized memory settings too.
