I'm trying to figure out the best CPU to use with my RTX 5070 Ti. I've decided to go with AMD for the CPU. There's currently a bundle available at Micro Center featuring a Ryzen 7 9700X for $429.99, which is quite convenient. However, I'm concerned that some people online are saying the 9700X might bottleneck the 5070 Ti in certain games. I'm looking to spend around $1500 total on this build, with some flexibility up to $1600 for a worthwhile performance boost. My remaining budget is about $750 after getting the GPU for MSRP. My main use will be gaming at 1440p to 4k and possibly some light 3D modeling. The games I'm looking to play include Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, and Elden Ring.

If you can swing it, the 7800X3D would be an ideal match for the 5070 Ti, but if that doesn't fit your budget, then the 9700X is the way to go. For 4k gaming, the GPU will usually end up being the limiting factor anyway, so you'll likely be fine.
