I'm looking for a Linux distribution that can run just about any Windows game without requiring a lot of technical setup. I enjoy exploring free games on platforms like Itch.io, and I want an OS that will support them right out of the box. Additionally, I frequently use emulators and would like them to work seamlessly as well. I really want to avoid complicated configurations since I'm not a tech expert and would prefer to steer clear of spyware too. Is this even feasible?

Check out Bazzite, it’s a distro focused on gamers. Most games run straight out of the box with minimal tweaks needed, which sounds like it could suit your needs perfectly!
Most Linux distros require some tinkering to get games running. You can use Wine or tools like Lutris and Bottles to help, but not every Windows game will work perfectly. Just keep that in mind if you're diving into this.
True, Wine can be hit or miss. Steam is an easy way to get started, though.
If you want something that does a decent job with most Windows games, Linux Mint and Steam should work well together. You might have to check ProtonDB for some setup tips for specific games, but it’s manageable without too much effort.
Honestly, if you're primarily looking to run Windows games without hassle, sticking with Windows might be your best bet. You could try using a de-bloat script or get an enterprise version of Windows for minimal bloatware.
SteamOS is certainly worth a shot, especially if you want a gaming-centric experience. But, just keeping a secondary setup with Windows might save you from frustrations with compatibility.
Thanks for the heads up! I guess I’m prepared for some degree of tinkering.
