I bought my PC about six years ago during COVID and haven't upgraded it at all since. Now, I'm thinking it's time for some improvements, but I'm not sure where to begin. Here are my current specs:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core (3.60 GHz)
- RAM: 32.0 GB (DDR4)
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (8 GB)
- PSU: 750W
- Motherboard: MPG B550 GAMING PLUS
I have a budget of around $600 but could stretch it a bit more for something worthwhile. Any suggestions?

You might want to see how your PC performs under your usual settings first. Lower the graphics settings and check if the FPS improves. If it does, then consider upgrading the GPU. If not, then you could be looking at a CPU upgrade instead. It sounds like you've got a solid build, so it might not be necessary to rush into upgrades.
Your PC specs seem decent and might still be good for today's games. If you're not struggling with performance, maybe hold off on upgrades for now. But if you do decide to upgrade, I'd suggest a used 5700x or even a 5800x for a CPU upgrade; they’re relatively affordable and would pair nicely with a new GPU like the 5070.
If you notice your GPU hitting 100% utilization regularly, it's a sign you should upgrade it first. Otherwise, if it stays below 90%, then a CPU upgrade might be your best bet. You could look into something like the RTX 5070 or RX 9070 XT for upgrades.
Sounds like a solid plan! Plus, GPU prices might rise later this year, so upgrading sooner could be smart.

That's actually a smart way to pinpoint where the bottleneck is. I hadn't thought of testing that first!
