Hey everyone! I'm planning to build a new PC since mine just went kaput, and I want to pair a GPU with my 7800X3D for gaming at 1080p. I've been doing some digging, but I'm still unsure. I have a BenQ XL2546K TN panel with a 240Hz refresh rate that I really enjoy, and I'm hesitant to upgrade to 1440p because I can't find a 24.5-inch monitor that meets my refresh needs. So, what GPU do you all recommend that performs well with the 7800X3D at 1080p without focusing on ray tracing? Thanks for your insights!

I'm in the same boat, rocking a 1080p IPS 144Hz monitor myself. Honestly, after a lot of research, I opted for the RX 9070 (non-XT) mainly because it gives me peace of mind for future games. It performs well and ensures I hit over 100 FPS in most titles. Just double-check your PSU and case dimensions before you buy—the RX 9070 XT was too big for my case, and my PSU wasn’t beefy enough either!

Good point! It's crucial to ensure the power supply can handle the new GPU. The last thing you want is to be stuck with a component that doesn't fit.

If you’re looking for top performance, then technically the 5090 is the best option, but let's be real – for a more reasonable pick, the 9060 XT 16GB is great. If you ever think about upgrading to a higher resolution, consider cards like the RTX 5070 and up, which are also good candidates for a 180Hz 1440p monitor. However, for now, sticking with 1080p on your set-up is perfectly fine.

For 1080p gaming, I'd say the RX 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM would be a solid choice. It'll handle most games smoothly without any issues. Plus, it's pretty affordable! Just make sure it fits your budget first.
