What’s the Best GPU for Around $600 with No Performance Limits?

I'm on the hunt for a GPU that costs about $600, but here's the catch: I want to maximize raw performance without worrying about power draw limits, efficiency, or how loud the card might be. I'm not a fan of features like DLSS or Frame Generation, so I'm looking for a straight-up performance champion. I've considered options like the 6950XT and the 3090, but I'm open to any suggestions, including used cards, if they offer the best performance for the price. Let me know what you think!

If you can snag a 9070XT at MSRP, that's your best bet!

That’s super tricky for me. I’m seeing them go for at least $800 nowadays.

If you're skipping DLSS, I'd definitely lean towards AMD cards. It seems a bit off to ignore DLSS, but hey, personal preference! Just keep in mind that if you're aiming for professional work and pure performance, DLSS might not be your main concern.

Yeah, it really comes down to what you're using the GPU for. In strictly performance-intensive tasks, not having DLSS can actually be a plus.

Exactly! I get where you’re coming from. I’ve had a rough ride with both DLSS and FSR.

I’d say the best new GPU under $600 is the RTX 5070 from brands like PNY or Zotac. If used is on your list, look for a 7900 XT with 20GB of VRAM. It usually outperforms the 5070 by 5-15%, but keep in mind the price varies by location.

Honestly, 12GB of VRAM is a dealbreaker for me, so I'm with you on considering something else.

If we're talking new cards, the RTX 9070 with 16GB for $599 is a solid pick. Also, the 5070 at $550 is an option, though it feels a bit underwhelming for me. But honestly, the 9070 delivers the best performance in this generation.

PriceHopper -

Funny enough, the best I’ve found for a 9070 is around $700 where I live, so that’s kind of a gamble!

PerformancePoint -

The focus on raster performance in AMD's 90 series is wild. They're competing with crazy 40 series RT performance.

Your main choices are the 5070 or 9070, both available for around $550-$600.
