I'm looking for recommendations on the best graphics card to use for upscaling movies from 1080p to 4K. My current setup includes a Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite motherboard, an Intel i5 13600K, 32GB of Corsair DDR5 RAM, a Seasonic 850 Gold power supply, and an Intel A770 GPU. While the A770 does a decent job, it seems more tailored for gaming rather than media playback. I'm curious if an Nvidia or Radeon card would perform better in this scenario. It's tough to find demos showing the interface and settings adjustment for these cards without purchasing, and I'm hesitant to invest in a high-end model, though a 5080 or a comparable Radeon card is possible. Would love to hear your thoughts!

From my experience, Intel cards can handle upscaling pretty well. I use an A310, and it's worked like a charm for me!
You might want to explore the Plex community for more insights. Many use Nvidia Shields for AI upscaling, especially with TVs that don't upscale well by themselves. However, if you're building an HTPC, pretty much any card should do fine, especially with Intel QuickSync, which is great for keeping power consumption low.

Thanks for the tip, that's helpful! I'll check it out.
