I'm on the hunt for a solid new generation GPU that can handle all the current games and hopefully last me for a while. I'm looking to spend between €500 and €550. Any recommendations?

If you're looking in that price range, the RTX 5070 is a solid choice. It's got great performance and should serve you well for a decent amount of time.
In that budget, your main contenders are the RTX 5070 and the RX 9070. Personally, I'd recommend the RX 9070. It has 12GB of RAM, which I think is a better investment for future-proofing, especially if you're gaming at higher resolutions. If you can stretch your budget to around €600, the RX 9070XT offers a noticeable performance boost for a small increase in price.
Just a thought, are you currently using an AMD GPU? I'm a bit skeptical about the RX 9070 due to mixed reviews, and I feel like a lot of opinions come from hearsay rather than actual user experience. As an AMD user myself, I'd suggest steering clear of it.
