I've been using an old GTX 1060 12GB for nearly a decade. It has served me well, especially powering two 4K monitors—one of which I game on, typically hitting around 30fps. I'm now looking for a budget-friendly GPU upgrade, and I was considering the RX 6800 but the pricing has made me rethink my options. I want something that can handle 4K, but I don't need top-tier performance, just something solid for casual gaming. I mainly play titles like The Division 2, Space Engineers, The Last Caretaker, and Outer Worlds without issues on my current setup. I'd prefer new or second-hand GPUs with a warranty, localized to the UK. I've also lived without ray tracing so it's not a dealbreaker for me. Any suggestions?

Going for used GPUs is definitely your best bet if you want to stay under budget!
Honestly, you can't really get a decent 4K GPU for a budget price. Have you thought about looking for a used 3080 or 3080 Ti? They might fit your needs better for that resolution.
In terms of pricing, I've seen used 3080 12GB cards go for under £300 with some warranty. If you're okay with new, then the 6800XT is your best choice in that price range, especially since it outperforms the 3070 Ti in raster games and has plenty of VRAM for 4K.
Thanks a lot! That’s really helpful. 🙂
If you're willing to stretch your budget a little, the 6600 XT 16GB could be a great choice, around £350. The extra VRAM is a plus for your high resolution.
CEX provides a 5-year warranty on second-hand GPUs, so that's worth checking out!
I grabbed my 6900XT for under 300€, and it runs everything on ultra in 1440p, easily hitting 80FPS with AAA titles.

I get that, but I primarily use my PC for work and only game on the side. If I could find a 1060 for cheap, I'd be happy with a modern equivalent.
