I'm looking for a Linux distribution that's lightweight, offers a smooth interface, and is stable without too much customization. I've been using Linux Mint for the past two years mainly for my studies, but I've tweaked it a lot, which I realize is my fault. My computer specs are 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. Can anyone recommend a distro that fits these criteria?

Have you thought about Crunchbang ++ or just sticking with Mint but switching the desktop from Cinnamon to MATE or LXQT? That could keep things familiar while being more lightweight!
You might want to check out antiX or MX Linux with the Fluxbox desktop. They are both lightweight and provide a smooth experience!
For a stable setup, I recommend considering Debian or Fedora with a lightweight desktop environment like Xfce, Lxqt, or Lxde. These provide a good balance of performance and usability, especially on your specs. If you're keen on Ubuntu-family distros, Xubuntu or Lubuntu are solid choices as well!
