Hey folks! I'm diving into the world of Linux for the first time, and I'm having a hard time picking the right distro. I'm currently on Windows 10 Pro, but I'm looking for something that works well on my low-end laptop. I want a distro that's good for gaming, visually appealing, and easy for a complete newbie to navigate. Any recommendations? Also, if you have any YouTube tutorials on installation, I would really appreciate that. Thanks a bunch! 🙏

Make sure to mention your laptop specs to get the best advice! A cool idea is to create a Ventoy USB to run various distros live, so you can try them out before installing. If gaming is your main focus, again, look into Bazzite, but remember to create a backup of your important files before switching to Linux.

Great tips! It's always safer to have a backup – especially when you're making such a big switch.

If gaming is your primary focus, I recommend checking out Bazzite for out-of-the-box support. But if you're looking for something simpler, Linux Mint is a great option for beginners. For a bit more optimization and advanced features, CachyOS could be worth a shot. Whatever you choose, just make sure it fits your hardware!

Zorin OS is another solid choice for newbies. It's user-friendly and has a nice interface. I'd suggest testing it on a USB drive for a week before fully committing. Linux Mint and Pop!_OS are also good options, especially if you're into gaming. Just remember, there are plenty of games available on Linux!
