Hey everyone! I'm super curious about trying out Linux for gaming and want some advice on which distro to pick. I know a bit about the basics of Linux and I'm considering Mint, Ubuntu, or Ultramarine. My laptop has an Intel Celeron N4000 processor and 8GB of RAM. I realize my specs aren't great for gaming, but I'm embracing the challenge! Which distro do you think would work best for me?

Honestly, Mint might not be the best for gaming, so I'd keep it as a last resort. I'd suggest trying Ultramarine first, especially the Plasma version since it might be better optimized for your specs. If that doesn't work out, maybe give CachyOS or Ubuntu a shot next.

I’d recommend trying out either Ubuntu or Ultramarine. Both of those have modern display managers which might give you a smoother experience. Just a heads up, Ultramarine is basically Fedora with a fancy touch. Good luck!

Yeah, but don't get your hopes too high with that N4000 chip. It’s pretty limited—running Gnome on it felt like a total drag. Just to open the overview, I had to wait around 5-10 seconds! It’s decent for light stuff but for serious gaming, you might hit some walls.
