What’s the Best Motherboard for AM5 and RAM Choices?

I'm looking to upgrade my PC and need advice on selecting the right motherboard for an AM5 setup. I'm considering overclocking my RAM and CPU within safe limits, particularly the 9700x or 7800x3D processors. I'm also wondering if 32GB of RAM will be sufficient since I both game and work on my PC, using a hypervisor with a database. Would it be better to invest in 48GB of RAM instead?

First off, I’d recommend checking a list of compatible hardware to find the best motherboard for your AM5 setup. For the RAM, if your work demands it, going with 2x24GB is probably better than 2x16GB. A speed of 6000MHz CL30 would be ideal, and you might even be able to push it to 6200-6400 with just a bit more voltage. As for the CPU, the 7800x3D is generally better for gaming compared to the 9700x, but it really comes down to pricing. Sometimes, the 9800x3D isn’t much more than the 7800x3D, so keep an eye on that. For the motherboard, don’t overspend—B650 or B850 boards from MSI, Asus, or Gigabyte are solid choices, but I’d steer clear of Asrock for AM5 right now.

Good advice! I was looking at the x870 Tomahawk. Do you think it's worth the investment?
