I'm on the hunt for the best motherboard that will work with my Ryzen 9 9950x3d. My current Intel i9 14900K has seen better days and I've heard some troubling reports about the 7 9800X3D. Ideally, I'm looking for something comparable to the ASUS Z790 Gaming Wifi 2, but without causing issues for my CPU. Any suggestions?

A solid choice would be any B850 motherboard in the $150-200 range. They'll handle the Ryzen 9 nicely without breaking the bank.

Honestly, there really isn't a single best motherboard for any CPU like the Ryzen 9 9950x3d. You can find plenty of options that will work just fine, especially within the $200+ range. Focus on what I/O features you actually need for your setup rather than just the price.

True, but you have to be careful with some models. Like the X870 from Asrock has some issues with CPUs, so it's not always that simple.

Before you decide, think about what type of I/O connectivity you require. What do you intend to use the pc for? Are there specific features that are essential for you? And let’s not forget aesthetics! How many M.2 and PCIe slots are you hoping for? You could shell out for a top-tier motherboard filled with features, but that might not be the best use of your budget—maybe save some cash for other components instead!

I'm definitely leaning towards something similar to the Z790 Asus Gaming Wifi 2 for compatibility.

If you really want to unlock the full potential of your CPU, I'd recommend going with a good-quality X870 chipset. However, Asrock has been having issues with the new 9800x3d processors lately, so I’d steer clear of those. ROG boards are great but you’ll pay a premium. Personally, I've found MSI offers great performance for the price, and I haven't encountered any major issues with them over the last six years in my builds. Gigabyte is also decent, but some of their models could be better—especially their PSUs!

What do you think about the Aorus Elite WIFI7 priced at $350?
