I'm currently using a Ryzen 3600 paired with a 1070ti and 16GB of RAM (running at 2400 MT/s). I'm experiencing noticeable stuttering in FPS games, especially during map updates or when a lot is happening on-screen. I'm considering an upgrade to a 5600 and a 3060ti (12GB) but also thinking about upgrading my RAM given today's prices.
Could anyone suggest the best upgrade path? My budget is around $500, but I could stretch it a bit if it makes sense to invest more, particularly if it leads to a possible upgrade to AM5.

If you're looking for an upgrade, consider the 5700X3D instead of the 5600. The AM4 platform is nearing its end, so going for the 5700X3D gives you better longevity for your system in the long run.
It sounds like you’re trying to keep around that $500 mark. If that's the case, I recommend considering stretching your budget to grab a 5800X, as it's a strong step up for about $80 more than the 5600. If you can get a 5700X3D, that would be even better, but prices are a bit wild right now. As for your GPU, the 6600 and 7600XT are usually pretty competitive in pricing versus the 3060ti, so look into that as well.
The 5700X3D is still an excellent choice! Pair it with some fast RAM, like 2x16GB at >3600MHz, and you should be set for any modern game.
