Hey everyone! I have a PC with an Intel i9-9900K processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card, but I'm not satisfied with its performance. I'm thinking about upgrading to a Ryzen 9 7900X and either an RTX 5070 Ti or 5080. I can't afford to upgrade both at the same time, so I'm trying to figure out which one to tackle first. Should I invest in the new graphics card now or build a new PC with the Ryzen 9 and wait 6 to 12 months for the new GPU? Just a heads up, I game on a single 1440p 144Hz monitor. Thanks for any advice!

I’d recommend upgrading your CPU first. The RTX 3070 Ti is still a solid card and performs well at 1440p. Your i9-9900K is the oldest part of your setup, so boosting that will likely give you better overall performance. However, keep in mind that the 3070 Ti has only 8GB of VRAM, which can be a limitation for some games. If you play titles that demand more VRAM, consider a GPU upgrade instead, but only if you really need that extra memory.
Yeah, the GPU does struggle in certain games, but some titles are even more CPU-intensive. I'm also curious how much my current CPU might bottleneck a newer graphics card.
