What’s the best way to access my late brother’s Android phone?

Hi everyone, sadly, my brother passed away in an accident about a month ago. As we start to sort through his belongings, we're having trouble accessing his Android phone since none of us know the password. I have his Google account linked to my phone, but I'm unsure how to access the phone without losing everything on it. Any help would be appreciated!

Think about his privacy, though. Even though you’re curious, accessing his phone can be seen as an invasion of privacy. Maybe consider looking through his other belongings that might give you the closure you need without tampering with his personal space.

Honestly, it's best to let it go. If you try to reset the phone, it might become locked permanently due to factory reset protection. It’s a complicated process, and you might end up with a paperweight instead of a functional phone.

I get your intentions are good, but this could be an ethical dilemma. If he had important files, maybe check other devices or storage he used. His phone might not be the best way to remember him.
