Hey everyone, I'm trying to help my grandpa clean up his Windows 10 PC, which is really bloated with all sorts of unnecessary files and programs, like fake antivirus software and cleanup apps. He has hundreds of them, and I can't just go through them one at a time because that would take forever. Some of them even won't let me delete them directly. I'm looking for a program that can scan and let me remove all this junk efficiently. If you know of any open source options, that would be awesome. Thanks a lot!

Completely agree! Backing up files and doing a fresh install is the way to go. You’ll not only clean up the system, but also avoid issues with leftover files. You might also consider creating a user account for him that restricts installations, just to keep things tidy in the future.
Honestly, the best way to tackle this is to back up any important files he wants to keep (either to the cloud or a USB drive) and then do a clean install of Windows. It’ll allow you to start fresh without all that bloatware and potential malware. It might seem like a hassle, but it’s the most effective solution to clear everything out.
True, but he should still have the ability to install what he needs. This is just the effect of years of neglect! At least he’s learning to be more careful now.
