I'm planning to upgrade my SSD but I only have one slot on my motherboard and no external reader. I've heard that a fresh Windows install is often the best approach when setting up a new SSD. My question is, how can I clone my current SSD's files onto my HDD and then move those files to my new SSD after installing Windows? I'd appreciate any tips on tools or methods for a smooth transition!

If you're looking for a quick solution, you can get a USB enclosure for your old SSD for around $15. It makes the whole process of copying files much simpler. I did this last summer and it helped a ton! If you go the manual route, just drag and drop your data files from the old SSD to your HDD. Keep in mind that you'll need to reinstall any applications on the new Windows install since apps usually can't just be copied over. However, if you're not keen on a fresh install, there are free cloning tools available that let you clone your SSD directly to the new one and retain everything, including your Windows installation! Just swap the SSDs and you're good to go.
Sounds like a good plan! Do you have any recommendations for the best cloning tools or USB enclosures?
