I've just completed building my PC (yay me!) but when I tried to set up Windows, it prompted me for a network connection. Unfortunately, my WiFi router is in another room, and the Ethernet cable I have is way too short. Should I just invest in a really long Ethernet cable, or are there other options that could deliver similar performance?

Honestly, a long Ethernet cable is the best bet, especially for distances under 100 meters. It gives you the most stable connection.
If you can move your PC closer to the router temporarily, just bring it along with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. That way, you can connect via Ethernet easily, and it'll save you a headache with long cables!
