I'm relocating for work and will be taking a long car trip over 4-5 days. I'm debating whether to pack my PC in the car or ship it to my new address since my new place won't be ready for a week and I want it to arrive as I do. I'm worried about potential heat damage during the drive since I'm heading south and would appreciate any tips on safely transporting my PC.

Before you hit the road, it’s a good idea to disconnect the graphics card and RAM, and possibly any storage. While most parts are okay with temperature, loose components can cause issues during a bumpy ride. Just pack everything snugly, especially if you're shipping it. I usually toss my PC into the trunk and call it a day.
Honestly, just take it with you. Even if you have good packing materials, I wouldn’t risk it getting damaged in shipping. Better safe than sorry!
Just ensure your PC is properly secured and covered to avoid direct sunlight. It won't get anywhere near critical temperatures in your car. Plus, shipping companies can be pretty rough; they might toss your PC about during handling, which isn't great. Taking it with you is probably the safest bet!
Unplug your graphics card and pack it carefully in a box so it doesn’t move around. Then, just place the PC in your car securely. If you were to ship it, you could risk it getting tossed around too much, so moving it yourself is a safer, more cost-effective option.
Thanks for that tip! I’ll make sure to remove the graphics card before packing. My car will be packed tight, but I think the case will be alright during the trip.
