I recently purchased a 1TB SSD and I'm contemplating how to best partition it. I'm primarily into gaming, with titles like GTA V, Valorant, and CSGO in my library. Additionally, I plan to store some personal files such as movies and documents. How much space should I allocate for the C: drive versus the D: drive? Any advice on partitioning for optimal performance would be appreciated!

From my experience, don’t partition it. I went with a smaller drive and fully regret it—just make it all one big C: drive for ease.
If it were up to me, I’d grab an additional 500GB SSD specifically for your OS, and then keep the 1TB SSD for just games and personal files. This way, your OS won’t compete with your games for space, and you can keep everything nice and organized.
Just give 100% of the space to C:. If you need to store files, they'll fit and you can always manage your space better later.
I stopped splitting drives ages ago. A 1TB SSD is pretty compact for gaming and personal usage, so just leave it as one partition. You'll thank yourself later for not worrying about space fragmentation.
Honestly, you might be better off just using the entire drive as a C: drive. There's not really a strong advantage to partitioning unless you have specific needs, like running multiple operating systems. Plus, everything is still on one drive, so it won't really keep your data any safer.
True! I think a lot of people just stick to a single partition unless they have a lot of reasons to split things up.
That makes sense, I saw my friends partitioning their drives and thought it was necessary.

I agree! My old setup was overcomplicated with partitioning, and it just made things harder.
