A good way to practice is to challenge yourself with projects just above your current skill level. For example, try creating Conway's Game of Life. It'll help you get comfortable with loops and some basic math.

If you're looking for a real project, consider cloning one of your favorite old arcade games! I gained a lot of my skills from building Breakout or PacMan in JavaScript. Trust me, it’s totally doable for beginners.
