I recently switched to Linux Mint for my school laptop due to performance struggles with Windows. However, I'm having a hard time using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. I really dislike the web version because it lacks many features I need. What's the most effective way to use MS Word on Linux Mint?

If you're focused on the features that are missing in PowerPoint, it's worth evaluating if you need them that much. Otherwise, you might adapt to using the built-in options in LibreOffice Impress. Just a thought!

Have you considered using LibreOffice instead? It's a solid free alternative and can handle most Word documents pretty well. If you're missing certain features, you might have to adjust your workflow a bit, but many people find it works fine for them.

You could try setting up a virtual machine (VM) to run Windows and install Microsoft Office there. It works well and allows you to use MS Word like you normally would without the performance issues from using it directly on your laptop.

Another option is to use Wine to run an older version of Office, like Office 2007. It's compatible with Wine and might have all the features you want without the hassle of a full Windows install.

You could also check out OnlyOffice; some users like it as an alternative to MS Office. It's worth testing out if you're looking for more choices!
