I've been using Apple's built-in password app for years, but I'm starting to wonder if there are better or more secure options out there. How do you all manage your passwords? I'd love to hear your experiences and suggestions!

I began with 1Password long before Apple's password manager improved. It feels nice to have my passwords outside the Apple ecosystem since it works across various operating systems and has a web version too.

Honestly, I just keep everything in my head—my brain is my vault! But jokes aside, using Google Chrome for password management works well for me too.

I personally use 1Password because I like keeping notes and software licenses along with my passwords. If I didn't need those features, I’d probably stick with Apple's password app. Just keep in mind that if someone knows your phone passcode, they could access everything—though there's a way to set it up to require Face ID instead. You can make it more secure depending on your situation.

I think the built-in password app on Apple devices is pretty solid! It’s convenient since it’s already there. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, I’ve been using Bitwarden because it works on non-Apple platforms too.

There's actually a Windows app/extension for Apple's password manager now, which might be worth checking out!

I also like Bitwarden for PCs—it's a good option!

The Apple Passwords app works perfectly for me. It handles everything I need, including 2FA codes. Unless you need cross-platform functionality, I don't see why you'd switch to another app.

What about family sharing and compatibility? Those are big benefits of using a third-party app.

The new Password app that came with iOS 18 and Sonoma has some cool features—however, for full functionality, I’d recommend something like 1Password or Bitwarden.

I still use Apple's built-in password app, but my master password and 2FA info are stored in a Keepass database. I can’t risk being locked out of my Apple devices! It’s good to have multiple methods to access your accounts just in case.
