I'm really fed up with Windows 10 and my old PC is practically unusable. I'm considering switching to Linux and am wondering which distribution I should go for. I've got a 1TB HDD and 8GB of RAM, so there's plenty of space for a dual boot with Windows. I've heard some apps might not work on Linux, and I'd like to have the option to switch back and forth easily. I know about Ubuntu and Linux Mint, but I'd love to know which one would work better on my machine in terms of compatibility and performance. Also, how's the community support for these distros? If you need more specs, let me know. Any tutorials or tips for getting started with Linux would also be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Both Ubuntu and Linux Mint should work perfectly fine on your setup. They are incredibly popular options, so you can expect solid community support for both.
The performance really hinges on the apps you plan to use on your PC. 8GB of RAM is sufficient for a smooth experience, but ensure your applications are compatible with Linux. Overall, you should be good with either OS!

My usage is mostly on that PC is for browsing, online lectures, and some normal gaming.
