I'm having trouble transferring photos from my 256GB iPhone 13 mini to my ASUS Vivobook laptop. The phone is using 226GB of storage, and I'm trying to move over 17,000 pictures to free up space. I connected my phone to the laptop, opened its gallery, selected all the photos, but I keep getting an error message saying the transfer is impossible. I'm also planning to switch to an iPhone 15 with only 128GB of storage, and I need to clear space on my current phone to manage the transfer. Any tips?

If all else fails, a really straightforward method is to just email yourself the pictures. It’s quick and avoids any need for extra tools. Just save them from your email when you're on your computer!
I’ve found that using a Scandisk iXpand drive works wonders. It’s a USB drive with a lightning connector on one end, so you can copy your pictures directly to the drive before transferring it to your computer. Might save you some headaches!
First off, make sure your computer can access your iPhone. When you connect the phone, it should show up in the file explorer. If that doesn't work, one alternative is to upload your photos to iCloud and then download them onto your computer from there. It's a bit of a hassle but sometimes it's the trick that works!
Keep in mind that to view your photos through file explorer, you often need to log into your iCloud account too. It’s a little frustrating since we can connect our devices but the access feels restricted for some reason!
If you’re struggling with transferring all those photos at once, try copying them in smaller batches. It might take a little longer, but it could help avoid errors.

I tried using the file explorer and kept getting errors when trying to delete the files after copying. Even after allowing access, it's still a no-go for me.
