What’s the Best Way to Upgrade My Old Prebuilt PC?

Hey everyone! I've been using my PC for about five years now, and I'm running into some issues. I can't seem to play games like Minecraft or The Sims 4 anymore. I have a CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme with an Intel Core i5-9600KF, 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, a 500 GB SSD, and a GeForce GT 1030. While it handles basic tasks like browsing just fine, it gets really loud whenever I open Spotify.

I'm wondering if I should upgrade some parts of my current setup or if it's better to start fresh. Ideally, I want a PC that can handle over 32 GB of custom content for The Sims 4 and has a better graphics card than what I currently have, since mine barely keeps up. Any advice would be super appreciated!

You can definitely reuse some parts, like your power supply and case. But most other components would need replacing, or you could look for used parts. It might save you some cash while still upgrading performance!

Oh, really? I thought I had to buy everything new! That sounds helpful!

Honestly, that rig isn't cutting it, even for gaming five years ago. You'd be better off building a new PC from scratch than trying to upgrade this one. Prebuilts aren't always great if you're looking for upgrades.

What’s your budget looking like? It’s tough to give solid advice without knowing how much you’re willing to spend.

I was thinking around $1,000. I considered getting a mini PC, but I heard they can be pretty loud, so I'm not so sure about that anymore.
