What’s the best way to upgrade my PC on a $600 budget?

Hey all! I'm planning to upgrade my gaming rig with a budget of about $600. Here's what I'm currently working with: a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12400F CPU, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, and a PRO B760M-A WIFI DDR4 motherboard. I mostly use my PC for gaming at 1440p, some light streaming, and occasional video editing. I'm curious about what I should prioritize to get the most value for my money.

Honestly, your setup is already quite good. I see two options: either save for a full rebuild later, or invest in a higher-end graphics card now. Spending on anything else might not give you significant gains. Even if you build a new rig with the latest components and use your current GPU, you may not see a big difference in gaming performance. My advice? Either stick it out or plan to invest around $1,000 for a better GPU!

If you're considering upgrades, an AM5 system could be good, but you might want to check out the i7 14700K too. Are you having any major issues with your current setup?

I've been thinking about the i9-14900K! I know it’s compatible with my motherboard, but I've heard it gets really hot and uses a lot of power.

With a $600 budget, you're unlikely to find a better GPU, so I’d suggest focusing on a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM. An AM5 build with DDR5 could be worth it!

You might be able to get a decent upgrade by selling your current graphics card, but that means you'd be without it for a little while.

Have you been experiencing problems with any games? I think your setup is still solid for 1440p gaming, honestly!

Yeah, I've noticed some frame dips, especially in games like Dead Island 2 and Cyberpunk 2077. I usually run dual 144Hz monitors and get around 90-110 FPS, but I'm struggling to hit a steady 144 FPS.
