I've been reading discussions about whether Java is losing its grip on new projects, and I see a lot of Java code still in use. However, it feels like companies are leaning toward different languages for new projects these days. I'm curious: which languages are being chosen over Java lately, and what types of projects are they typically used for?

There's always talk about languages dying, but honestly, Java isn't going anywhere. I work with C# in a big company, but we still have a ton of Java projects, both new and old. As long as there are developers who know Java, it will continue to thrive. C# is gaining ground, but it's a different beast altogether.
I hear you! In the banking world, I just wish we could move away from COBOL already.
