I've got a setup with three USB ports on my PC case: one for a Bluetooth adapter, one that I use for my controller, and a third blue port. I recently swapped out the USB cable for my controller, but it only flashes orange when plugged into the same port as before. Now, I have to use the blue port for it to work. And oddly, if I try to connect it to the port where my Bluetooth dongle is, it won't turn on at all. Can anyone explain why this is happening?

Yeah, the color coding helps a lot! Just keep in mind that even if both cables are 2.0 or 3A, they can still be picky about which ports they actually work in. It's not uncommon for devices to perform better in a specific type of port, like that blue one. It’s just one of those quirks of tech!
It sounds like you’ve got a mix of USB ports here. The blue one is a USB 3.0 port, which is faster and can deliver more power (at least 900mA), while the black ports are usually USB 2.0, which only provide about 500mA. Your controller might need that extra power, which is why it only works in the blue port.
That makes a lot of sense! It's wild how cables that are supposedly the same can behave so differently with power requirements.

Totally get that! Sometimes it feels random, but the specifications can really change how devices interact.
