What’s the estimated cost for a PC setup to run 1440p in 2025?

I'm looking to transition from console gaming to PC gaming and I'm curious about what it would cost to build or buy a machine that can handle 1440p at 60fps or higher. I'm open to purchasing both new and used parts, so please provide insights on pricing for both options!

If you're open to buying used parts, you could probably build a decent setup for around $600. Aim for a system with a 12th or 13th gen Intel processor or something like the Ryzen 5 Zen 3. For the graphics card, something equivalent to a 3070 would be ideal. For example, I found a 12400F build with 32GB of RAM and a 1660 Super going for about $350; you could resell the 1660 for $50-100 and then grab a better GPU like a 6800 or 3080 for around $300. If you're looking at new parts, expect to spend at least $700-800, especially if you go for a refurbished graphics card.

I built my PC with a Ryzen 5 5600 and an RX 6600 for about $600, and it's been great for 1440p gaming for a few years now! It's a solid choice if you're aiming for that budget.

What frame rates do you usually get, and what games do you play?
