What’s the Right Slot for My SSD on a Gigabyte B850 Motherboard?

Asked By GamerGal123 On

I'm trying to install a T Force G70 Pro 2TB SSD into my Gigabyte B850 Gaming X WiFi 6E motherboard. I've located the slots labeled m2c_sb, m2b_cpu, and m2a_cpu, but I'm confused about where to insert the SSD. I've read that this motherboard has a unique layout for SSD installation, and I couldn't find clear guidance online. Any help would be appreciated!

If you've found the slots, here's the deal: m2c_sb is controlled by the south bridge, which means it's the slowest option. m2a_cpu is typically the fastest slot, followed by m2b_cpu. So, if you can, go for m2a_cpu for the best speeds!

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely try m2a_cpu; I need to maximize my SSD performance.
