Hey folks, I'm noticing that Drive Temperature 2 is showing over 65°C while my WD SN5000 1TB NVMe is just idling. Is this normal? What should I be looking out for?

I'm in a similar boat—my Drive Temp 2 hits over 80°C and even goes up to 114°C sometimes! I don’t have a heatsink, and this issue started after I reinstalled Windows 10. Any suggestions?
Drive Temperature 2 is usually the temp of the controller managing the storage, so it's expected to run a bit warmer than the other numbers you might see.
If it's positioned under your GPU, heat soak might be a factor. 65°C isn't too crazy for an NVMe though; mine gets much warmer during gaming sessions.
It could just be the actual temperature or a faulty sensor. Make sure your SSD has a heatsink and check if there's good airflow in your case.
Yep, the motherboard's heatsink is on it, and airflow seems fine.
It's sandwiched between the CPU and GPU. Also, HWiNFO shows a different temp than CrystalDiskInfo—it's way higher, and HWiNFO calls it the ASIC Controller temp.
