Hey folks,
I'm worried that my personal computer might be compromised. I keep seeing a wifi connection labeled "Hidden Network" on my laptop, and it seems to tag along with me wherever I go—whether it's the doctor's office, the library, or a restaurant in another city. I've noticed it doesn't show up on any nearby devices when I'm at these locations.
Sometimes, there's also a second "Hidden Network" that's unsecured. What's going on? How can a hidden network follow me like this when my personal cell phone is turned off and there's no other device around?
Thanks for any insights!

It’s likely not a real hidden network. Windows displays that option to let you access any hidden networks if you have the details to log in. It’s a pretty common feature.
Heads up: This might not be as dire as it seems! It’s possible for people to hide the names of their networks on routers, and you may just be encountering one of those hidden networks. Your laptop is trying to connect or show you that option just in case you have the credentials. It's kind of standard behavior, not necessarily a sign of hacking.
But how does that explain it following me around to different places? There aren't any other devices showing that network!

Right, it’s just Windows being Windows! Just ignore it unless you notice any unusual behavior on your laptop.
