I've been hearing a strange grinding noise from my laptop fan, and it seems to be struggling to operate properly. It tries to run but then slows down and eventually stops. I can't upload a video of the sound to show you all. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Replacing the fan can work, but I totally get it if you're not wanting to spend money right now. Maybe you could try cleaning it out first? Sometimes dust buildup can cause weird sounds and problems.
It sounds like your fan might be malfunctioning. Usually, if it's making a grinding sound, it could be that the bearing is worn out or there's something stuck in it. If you can't open it up to inspect, it might be best to consider a fan replacement if possible.
