Hey everyone! I'm currently a web developer looking to improve my desk setup for better focus and comfort during long coding sessions. I'm really interested in hearing about what specific changes you've made that have genuinely boosted your productivity, rather than what's just aesthetically pleasing. I'm curious to know:
* What does your desk layout look like (e.g., monitor(s), laptop stand, keyboard/mouse arrangement)?
* How do you handle cable management and keep clutter to a minimum?
* Are there any accessories you didn't expect would help, like lighting, chairs, footrests, or whiteboards?
* Conversely, what items have you decided to remove to enhance your productivity?
Feel free to share photos as well—I'm eager to see real examples! Thanks in advance!

My desk is pretty basic—43" 4K TV as my monitor, and I work from an armchair. No clutter or cables; I don’t find that extra peripherals make me more productive. Just figure out what works for you and go with that!

I use a large sit/stand desk and a high-quality office chair. My setup features a single 57" monitor with my laptop positioned underneath it. I rely on the laptop's keyboard and use an MX Master mouse. Oh, and I have this massive fan to combat the Aussie heat—it really helps me focus by keeping me comfortable!

Honestly, my setup is super simple. I just have my laptop and some comfy seating. If I add too much, I get distracted—minimalism is key for me!

A unique setup I like is having one monitor in portrait and another in landscape. I use big whiteboards for my notes, even if they're not fancy. It's all about the space and how comfortable you feel while working—nothing special about my chair or peripherals, though!

I've got a good ergonomic chair that isn’t just a gaming chair, which really helps. My layout includes a split keyboard for better shoulder position and avoids rounding. I use a single 34" 4k monitor directly in front of me, with my laptop on a stand to the side for quick reference, keeping my neck safe from strain. I can't stress enough how important ergonomics are. No dual monitors or extra screens; I just focus on quality. And remember to take breaks—your brain needs them to produce great work!

Totally agree about f.lux! I have it on all my devices for managing eye strain.
