I'm new to using this chat service and I keep seeing the message 'maximum chat length is reached, start a new chat to continue the conversation.' Can someone explain when exactly this message appears? Is it based on the total word count of all messages exchanged, or is it about the number of responses? I'm not very tech-savvy, so please explain it in simple terms. Thanks a lot! 😊

To put it simply, there's no fixed rule, but the limit tends to depend on the complexity and weight of the messages sent. It's somewhat random! Based on my experience, I hit the chat limit after about 2046 messages without any complex queries. If you're using the pro version, you can copy your chat and start a new one with that text to avoid losing context. Just be mindful that after around 1500 messages, you might find the end approaching quickly!
The message pops up after you've been chatting for a while in a single thread. While I don't have the exact details on the number of messages it takes to hit that limit, once you see the message, your only option is to start a new chat. A tip: I usually ask the AI to summarize what we've discussed so far so I can paste it into the new chat and keep the conversation going!
That's really smart! I sometimes worry about losing the thread too, so I definitely appreciate that advice. Thanks for sharing!
Got it! I'm using the pro version, and we're just creating stories together. No heavy analysis. This really helps me plan for chat transitions!
