I'm planning to build a Linux workstation and was hoping to wait until Black Friday for deals, but I've noticed that prices are actually rising instead of dropping! For instance, the PNY 5070Ti (OC) cost £600 a few weeks ago, and now it's gone up to around £900. I'm not in a rush, so I can wait until December or January. Here are the parts I'm looking at:
- AMD Ryzen 9 9900X
- Thermalright Aqua Elite V3
- MSI B650M (for overclocking the Ryzen 9)
- Corsair Vengeance 16GBx2 DDR5 6800
- Kingston M.2 NVMe 2TB
- PNY OC 5070Ti (though I'm also considering Gigabyte, not sure about the difference between Eagle and Windforce, but I want OC capabilities)
- Lian Li A3
- MSI MAG A750BN (750W)
My budget is around £1500, but with rising prices, I'm starting to worry. The main purpose of this build is for AI/ML tasks and simulations, so I'll need the cores and threads. I was initially considering an Intel i9 14th Gen, but I'm leaning away from Intel right now. Any suggestions?

It's generally best to buy when you can afford it, rather than waiting too long for a specific sale that might not come. Prices are currently rising for many components due to global factors rather than just seasonal trends. You might see some small discounts on non-critical items during the holidays, but GPUs and CPUs can fluctuate. Interestingly, right now, GPUs are cheaper than they've been in a while, but I wouldn't expect that to last. RAM prices are likely to keep rising, and storage might follow suit. Just be cautious and do your research on the current market situation!

Thanks for the advice! I might prioritize getting non-critical components on sale first. I had a feeling the PNY 5070Ti's price jumped because it was such a good deal and people are snapping them up for the holidays.
